About Us
Evans & Herlihy is the successor firm of The Evans Law Firm that was founded in September of 2011 by Chip Evans. Chip had previously been a partner in Fisher & Evans, L.L.P. and Evans Edwards, L.L.P., two prominent Austin personal injury law firms. Chip’s practice has focused almost solely on Texas personal injury cases since 1998. Scott Herlihy had previously been a of counsel to The Evans Law Firm since 2016, the owner of The Law Offices of Scott Herlihy from 2012-2015 and 2001-2003, a partner at Savrick Schumann, Johnson, McGarr, Kaminski & Shirley, L.L.P. from 2003-2012, and an associate at Hohmann, Taube & Summers, L.L.P. from the beginning of his career in 1997 through 2001.
Scott and Chip first met at Southwestern University in 1990. They strengthened their friendship when they both took a summer school class that culminated in a trip to Boston. While the Freedom Trail was on the itinerary, they share fond memories of evenings at Fenway Park from that trip. Scott and Chip then coincidentally showed up the first day of law school together. They remained friends throughout school and both started practicing in Austin following graduation. While most would consider their law degrees to be the most significant accomplishment of their school days, Scott and Chip would point you to their fantasy football league that was founded during their third year of school and still survives to this day. They feel it is important to note that they have a combined 6 championships between the two of them.
The firm was founded on the idea that while the firm has many cases, each client has only one case and needs to feel like theirs is a priority. Selecting a lawyer is no small choice. Our firm recognizes this and appreciates the trust our clients place in us when hiring our firm. Personal attention and advice are given to clients through direct contact with the lawyers in our firm. Clients are kept fully advised of the status of their case at all phases of the process.
The firm has the resources and staff to handle any matter, no matter how complicated or financially rigorous. The firm often handles cases that are referred from other attorneys or on a joint venture basis. Additionally, we regularly serve as local counsel in the central Texas area.
